SIGHT SPIRIT shifted in at the start, resulting in LOOKING COOL being crowded for room outside GOLDEN LINK which became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by LOOKING COOL. WIDE BLUE YONDER began awkwardly and shifted out towards the heels of NEVER TOO SOON, resulting in WIDE BLUE WONDER losing ground. CIRCUIT STELLAR and ENCOUNTERED bumped on jumping. SECRET VISION began awkwardly and in the early stages was shifted across behind runners. After the 1500 Metres, WIDE BLUE YONDER was checked when crowded for room between CHEVALIER PRINCE and LOOKING COOL which initially shifted out and then shifted out further after becoming unbalanced as a result of bumping WIDE BLUE YONDER. TEMPEST EXPRESS lost its left front plate after the 1500 Metres. Passing the 1400 Metres, GOLDEN LINK was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SIGHT SPIRIT. Approaching the 1100 Metres, CHEVALIER PRINCE was left racing wide and without cover and then in the Straight gave ground. The performance of CHEVALIER PRINCE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CHEVALIER PRINCE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CHEVALIER PRINCE immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. Approaching the 600 Metres, LOOKING COOL shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of CHEVALIER PRINCE. Passing the 300 Metres, LOOKING COOL raced tight outside SIGHT SPIRIT which shifted out to obtain clear running. Approaching the 200 Metres, POWERFUL WINGS shifted out under pressure and brushed the hindquarters of WIDE BLUE YONDER. NEVER TOO SOON had some difficulty obtaining clear running until passing the 200 Metres. GOLDEN LINK got its head on the side and lay out under pressure in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of POWERFUL WINGS and WIDE BLUE YONDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. POWERFUL WINGS, CIRCUIT STELLAR and SIGHT SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
