CHARITY GRACE got its head up on jumping when being steadied to obtain cover.
CALIFORNIA TEN and RUNNING GLORY were steadied in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail.
After the 600 Metres, CHARITY GRACE was awkwardly placed behind CIRCUIT THREE and near the 550 Metres shifted out away from the heels of that horse and improved into tight running between CIRCUIT THREE and RUNNING GLORY.
Rounding the Home Turn, CELESTIAL POWER was shifted out away from the heels of LOOKING GREAT which was taken out by GALAXY WITNESS.
When questioned, J Moreira stated that, in his opinion, GALAXY WITNESS was not disappointing in today’s race. He said after being shifted to the outside of ALL FOR ST PAUL’S rounding the Home Turn, GALAXY WITNESS quickened well, however, over the latter stages was not able to sustain its finishing effort. He said GALAXY WITNESS lay out under pressure which he put down to immaturity. He said the reason he felt that GALAXY WITNESS was not disappointing was due to the fact that the horse had risen sharply in ratings and was having its first start in Class 2 today. A veterinary inspection of GALAXY WITNESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of CALIFORNIA TEN immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIA TEN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of CELESTIAL POWER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GALAXY WITNESS, ALL FOR ST PAUL’S and BOURBONAIRE were sent for sampling.
