IGNITING began only fairly and then when being ridden along was crowded for room between HARMONY N BLESSED (Z Purton) which stumbled badly on jumping and LIGHTNING BOLT which was taken out by MAN STAR. This resulted in IGNITING losing ground and LIGHTNING BOLT also being hampered when tightened for room between HARMONY N BLESSED and MAN STAR. After the race, Z Purton reported that due to the manner in which HARMONY N BLESSED began today, the horse was not able to lead as had been hoped. He said when unable to lead, HARMONY N BLESSED did not travel strongly at any stage of the race and in the Straight did not finish the race off. A veterinary inspection of HARMONY N BLESSED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. CALL ME TEDDY began awkwardly and stumbled. From a wide barrier, SUNNY BOY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After initially being shifted across to obtain a position closer to the rail in the early stages from a wide barrier, ALL IN MIND was left racing wide and without cover near the 1000 Metres. Near the 900 Metres, LIGHTNING BOLT raced tight outside the heels of MAN STAR which was taken out marginally by LIKE THAT. Approaching and passing the 800 Metres, DROPS OF GOD raced with its head on the side and lay in. MAN STAR and LIKE THAT were held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn. Shortly after entering the Straight, DROPS OF GOD momentarily raced in restricted room between MAGIC SUPREME and HARMONY N BLESSED which got its head on the side and lay in. Close to the finishing line, FLYING DRAGON shifted in and bumped LIKE THAT. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on ALL IN MIND at the request of Trainer C Fownes. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ALL IN MIND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LIGHTNING BOLT, CAMPIONE and LIKE THAT were sent for sampling.
