CHATER PINS and V CHEVALIERS began only fairly. UNIVERSAL GO GO shifted out at the start and bumped HYPERION TREE which in turn shifted out and brushed the hindquarters of NAMJONG CORTEZ. HAPPY PROFIT shifted out at the start and inconvenienced BIG TWO which was being steadied to obtain cover from a wide barrier. From a wide barrier, NEARLY FINE was also shifted across behind runners shortly after the start. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, V CHEVALIERS raced in restricted room between CHATER PINS and BIG TWO which shifted in. BIG TWO then raced tight outside the heels of CHATER PINS passing the winning post on the first occasion which in turn was racing tight outside HYPERION TREE. Approaching the 1300 Metres, NEARLY FINE raced in restricted room inside HYPERION TREE when improving into tight running inside that horse. Approaching the 1200 Metres, HAPPY PROFIT was left racing wide and without cover and was then ridden along to obtain a position closer to the rail. Approaching the 1000 Metres, CHATER PINS was left racing wide and without cover. NEARLY FINE was held up for clear running approaching and passing the 400 Metres. NEARLY FINE was again held up for clear running from passing the 250 Metres until near the 200 Metres. UNICORNBABY got its head on the side and lay in under pressure in the early part of the Straight. Passing the 300 Metres, CHATER PINS was brushed by BULLETPROOF which shifted to the outside of SUPER RED DRAGON. Approaching the 150 Metres, BULLETPROOF raced in restricted room between SUPER RED DRAGON and BIG TWO, both of which shifted ground. Passing the 100 Metres, HYPERION TREE was shifted to the inside of SUPER RED DRAGON to continue improving. UNICORNBABY lost its right front plate after the race. A veterinary inspection of CHATER PINS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BULLETPROOF, UNIVERSAL GO GO and BIG TWO were sent for sampling.
