As the start was effected, SOLAR POWER stood flat-footed and took no part in the race. Before being allowed to race again, SOLAR POWER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a series of consecutive barrier trials. TURQUOISE ALPHA was crowded for room on jumping between FREE FOAL which shifted in and LEADING FORTUNE which began awkwardly and shifted out. From wide barriers, WONDER YEARS and COPARTNER ERA were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 1400 Metres, TURQUOISE ALPHA was steadied away from the heels of LEADING FORTUNE. After the 1200 Metres, MR ALDAN was left racing wide and without cover. MR ALDAN was then taken wider again passing the 700 Metres by RIGHT AS RAIN which shifted to the outside of FREE FOAL. Passing the 700 Metres, DECISIVE ACTION got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of NOBLE STEED which was awkwardly placed behind CITY LEGEND. Near the 200 Metres, CITY LEGEND raced tight inside MR ALDAN which shifted in when commencing to give ground. CITY LEGEND and NOBLE STEED then raced tight approaching and passing the 150 Metres between MR ALDAN and SWOT TROOPERS WIND which at this time was held up for clear running behind FREE FOAL. SWOT TROOPERS WIND was then not able to obtain clear running for the remainder of the race and consequently was not able to be tested. After the 200 Metres, RIGHT AS RAIN shifted in under pressure and bumped FREE FOAL, resulting in the rider of RIGHT AS RAIN having to stop riding and correct his mount near the 150 Metres. When being corrected, RIGHT AS RAIN then shifted out towards the heels of LEADING FORTUNE. CITY LEGEND, which was following RIGHT AS RAIN, was awkwardly placed behind that horse in consequence near the 100 Metres. Over the concluding stages, TURQUOISE ALPHA and COPARTNER ERA raced tight. LEADING FORTUNE and RIGHT AS RAIN were sent for sampling.
