J Moreira (BRILLIANT FORTUNE) was fined $2,000 for initially presenting himself to be weighed out with the incorrect saddle cloth number.
NAMJONG SINGS was slow to begin.
LIKE THAT was bumped on jumping by BRILLIANT FORTUNE which shifted out.
WINE AND WINE was steadied to obtain cover in the early stages.
Despite being ridden along for some distance in the early stages, FLYING GENIUS failed to muster speed.
When being steadied to obtain cover behind LIKE THAT passing the 900 Metres, HEART CONQUERED was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of that horse.
Passing the 700 Metres, HEART CONQUERED was steadied away from the heels of LIKE THAT.
Near the 100 Metres, NAMJONG SINGS shifted out towards the heels of SPECIAL M which also shifted in as NAMJONG SINGS was improving into tight running between that horse and BRILLIANT FORTUNE. This resulted in NAMJONG SINGS being inconvenienced, shifting in and brushing BRILLIANT FORTUNE approaching the 50 Metres. SPECIAL M then shifted out after the 50 Metres and inconvenienced LIKE THAT.
After the race, M Chadwick stated that after being steadied to obtain a trailing position in the early stages, HEART CONQUERED travelled satisfactorily throughout the run, however, did not finish the race off after being placed under pressure in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of HEART CONQUERED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
STOLTZ and SPECIAL M were sent for sampling.
