ELON shifted out on jumping and bumped EVER FORCE. TURIN WARRIOR shifted out on jumping and bumped FLAMING PASSION which became unbalanced. PARTY WARRIOR shifted in on jumping and bumped FAULDS. FAULDS and PARTY WARRIOR were then crowded for room between COLONEL and GRACYLOVE which shifted in. After this, from the outside barriers, PARTY WARRIOR and GRACYLOVE were steadied to obtain cover. Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, SIMPLY FLUKE raced in restricted room between ELON and TURIN WARRIOR which was racing tight inside FLAMING PASSION which got its head on the side and lay in away from COLONEL. ELON travelled keenly making the turn near the 950 Metres. FAULDS was left racing wide and without cover near the 550 Metres. At the entrance to the Straight, ELON was shifted in a number of horses to obtain clear running. Near the 50 Metres, JAZZ ANGEL got its head on the side and shifted in away from GRACYLOVE, resulting in JAZZ ANGEL bumping EVER FORCE. When racing very tight outside EVER FORCE, JAZZ ANGEL was then crowded for room approaching the winning post between EVER FORCE and GRACYLOVE which shifted in marginally. After the race, J Moreira stated that after JAZZ ANGEL was again slow to begin and then shifted out towards the heels of SIMPLY FLUKE, the horse was required to race back in the field. He said JAZZ ANGEL then travelled satisfactorily in the early and middle stages, however, after coming under pressure at the entrance to the Straight got its head on the side and shifted in towards the rail. He said he switched JAZZ ANGEL to the outside of EVER FORCE near the 200 Metres and whilst he was not able to ride JAZZ ANGEL out fully over the concluding stages, nonetheless, in his opinion, the horse was well beaten at this time and was disappointing in that it did not finish off the race as it had at its most recent starts. A veterinary inspection of JAZZ ANGEL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of JAZZ ANGEL, favourite for tonight’s race and which finished at the rear of the field, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, JAZZ ANGEL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of ELON and FAULDS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. JAZZ ANGEL, SUPER DOBBIN and PARTY WARRIOR were sent for sampling.
