ZEBROWSKI began awkwardly and bumped the outside of its gate, resulting in the horse losing ground.
From wide barriers, CHARITY GO and ENJOYING were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1700 Metres, CELESTIAL POWER got its head up when awkwardly placed outside the heels of CALIFORNIA TEN as CELESTIAL POWER was being steadied to obtain cover behind that horse.
Near the 1650 Metres, CALIFORNIA TEN shifted out away from the heels of ZEBROWSKI.
The performance of CHEFANO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CHEFANO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CHEFANO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, K Teetan reported that, in his opinion, CALIFORNIA TEN’s failure to finish off the race was attributable to the horse travelling too keenly in the early and middle stages. A veterinary inspection of CALIFORNIA TEN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of ENJOYING and LOOKING GREAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
C P BRAVE, CELESTIAL POWER and ZEBROWSKI were sent for sampling.
