FLAMING PASSION and SUPER COMMANDER bumped at the start. PACKING CHAMPION shifted out on jumping and inconvenienced INFINITY WIN. BOOMING WELL got its head on jumping, shifted out and brushed the hindquarters of TRAVEL DATUK. After this, BOOMING WELL was shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. From the outside barriers, JAZZ STEED and CHEVAL VALIANT were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. PARTY WARRIOR was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. Near the 950 Metres, FLAMING PASSION was crowded for room between SUPER COMMANDER which was inclined to lay out and REGENCY STAR which got its head on the side and lay in. In this incident, SUPER COMMANDER became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by FLAMING PASSION. PACKING CHAMPION raced greenly in the early stages and shifted ground on a number of occasions and then got its head on the side and lay out making the turn near the 600 Metres. After this, PACKING CHAMPION was left racing wide and without cover. Approaching the 700 Metres, JOYFUL WIN shifted out and brushed INFINITY WIN. Passing the 700 Metres, REGENCY STAR commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of JOYFUL WIN. CHEVAL VALIANT commenced to race keenly passing the 600 Metres and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of BOOMING WELL near the 550 Metres which resulted in CHEVAL VALIANT shifting out across the heels of JAZZ STEED and losing ground. Passing the 400 Metres, FLAMING PASSION was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER COMMANDER. BOOMING WELL, which was following, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SUPER COMMANDER in consequence. At the entrance to the Straight, PARTY WARRIOR became unbalanced when being shifted to the inside of REGENCY STAR to obtain clear running. PARTY WARRIOR was then shifted in from behind INFINITY WIN after the 250 Metres to obtain clear running. After shifting out passing the 150 Metres to improve into tight running between INFINITY WIN and NOIR RIDER, PARTY WARRIOR was crowded for room passing the 100 Metres due to INFINITY WIN shifting in marginally and NOIR RIDER (A Badel) which, after shifting out, then shifted out further after becoming unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by PARTY WARRIOR. A Badel was advised that whilst the Stewards were of the opinion that NOIR RIDER did not shift a significant amount of ground, nonetheless it was enough for NOIR RIDER and PARTY WARRIOR to make contact and therefore he must ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances. A veterinary inspection of SUPER COMMANDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. INFINITY WIN, JAZZ STEED and PARTY WARRIOR were sent for sampling.
