STAR OF RED began awkwardly. GARLIC HERO began only fairly. HOLYSHOWCASING was crowded for room on jumping between BOND A STAR and JOY AVENUE, both of which shifted ground. In this incident, BOND A STAR became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by HOLYSHOWCASING. From a wide barrier, SCENIC SWEETIE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. After travelling a short distance, GARLIC HERO was crowded for room between STAR OF RED which, after initially shifting out, became unbalanced after bumping GARLIC HERO and AFTER ME which shifted in. In the early stages, FOR FUN’S SAKE raced wide and passing the 700 Metres was steadied to obtain cover. Passing the 900 Metres, GARLIC HERO got its head on the side and lay in and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of STAR OF RED. Throughout the race, FARM BUMPER travelled wide and without cover and making the turn near the 550 Metres shifted in and bumped CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN. HOLYSHOWCASING got its head on the side and lay out passing the 500 Metres. Over the latter stages, JOY AVENUE lay in under pressure. Close to the finishing line, FOR FUN’S SAKE raced tight inside SCENIC SWEETIE. GARLIC HERO lay in under pressure in the Straight. SCENIC SWEETIE lost its left front plate after the race. A veterinary inspection of ISLAND SUNSHINE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SHANGHAI POWER and CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN were sent for sampling.
