ZONE D began only fairly and then lost ground after becoming unbalanced when bumped by GRACYLOVE which shifted out.
CASA KINGDOM shifted out at the start and bumped LOYAL BABY. CASA KINGDOM was then crowded for room between LOYAL BABY and TOYCOON which shifted out.
BRILLIANT CHINA and BEAUTY SPIRIT bumped on jumping.
HEARTY WISH shifted out at the start and bumped EASY FORTUNE. A short distance later, HEARTY WISH became unbalanced and shifted out after bumping with SOLAR POWER due to both horses shifting ground. In this incident, EASY FORTUNE was inconvenienced. Then from the outside barriers, HEARTY WISH and EASY FORTUNE were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
From a wide barrier, TELECOM ELITE was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
In the early stages, HEARTY WISH raced ungenerously and got its head up on a number of occasions.
After the 1100 Metres, CORDYCEPS TWO travelled very keenly when racing wide and without cover.
For the majority of the race, DIVINE REGULUS also travelled wide and without cover.
After the 500 Metres, LOYAL BABY was awkwardly placed behind SOLAR POWER. LOYAL BABY improved into very tight running inside SOLAR POWER passing the 400 Metres. LOYAL BABY then raced tight inside SOLAR POWER which shifted in marginally. LOYAL BABY and SOLAR POWER became unbalanced near the 350 Metres as a result of both horses bumping.
At the 400 Metres, BRILLIANT CHINA raced close to the heels of CORDYCEPS TWO which at this time lost its right hind plate. BRILLIANT CHINA then had some difficulty obtaining clear running and passing the 400 Metres was shifted to the inside of ZONE D to obtain clear running.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on EASY FORTUNE at the request of Trainer K H Ting. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
A veterinary inspection of HEARTY WISH immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a minor laceration below the right hock.
A veterinary inspection of SOLAR POWER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GREEN ENVY and GRACYLOVE were sent for sampling.
