Steward Report Predict Pace Map
SWOT TROOPERS WIND shifted out abruptly at the start and bumped TAILOR MADE, causing both horses to become unbalanced. From wide barriers, ENJOYABLE SUCCESS, SPEED FORCE and AFRICAN SKY were all steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 1600 Metres, REGENCY GEM was steadied away from the heels of MANNA FROM HEAVEN (C Schofield) which shifted in when not properly clear. C Schofield was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he provides sufficient clearance when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SWOT TROOPERS WIND was awkwardly placed between TAILOR MADE which was being steadied in an endeavour to obtain cover behind REGENCY GEM and VIRTUS STAR which shifted out. In the early stages, KA FORTUNE was left racing wide and without cover and then after the 1200 Metres was allowed to improve its position, however, continued to race wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres at which stage KA FORTUNE shifted in to race outside the lead. Approaching the 1300 Metres, VIRTUS STAR momentarily raced tight inside TAILOR MADE which raced in restricted room inside KA FORTUNE which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening to the runners on its inside. After the 700 Metres, CENTENARY IBIS was momentarily awkwardly placed behind PRESIDENT STAR. VIRTUS STAR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CENTENARY IBIS passing the 500 Metres when being shifted to the outside of that horse. Passing the 200 Metres, CENTENARY IBIS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of KA FORTUNE which shifted in. Then approaching the 100 Metres, CENTENARY IBIS was momentarily crowded for room between KA FORTUNE and NITRO EXPRESS (J Moreira) which shifted out before being corrected. J Moreira was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Close to the finishing line, PRESIDENT STAR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MANNA FROM HEAVEN. After the race, C Y Ho stated that when the pace of the race increased after the 600 Metres, TAILOR MADE was left flat-footed and after being placed under heavy pressure rounding the Home Turn did not finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of TAILOR MADE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, TAILOR MADE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on AFRICAN SKY at the request of Trainer T P Yung. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, AFRICAN SKY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of VIRTUS STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SWOT TROOPERS WIND and MANNA FROM HEAVEN were sent for sampling.
