WONDERFUL TIGER was slow to begin.
From wide barriers, JOYFUL CHEERS and FAIRY FLOSS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When being steadied to obtain cover, JOYFUL CHEERS got its head up on a number of occasions shortly after the start.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, SHOW MISSION was steadied away from the heels of FLYING SPIRIT (C Schofield) which shifted in when not properly clear. C Schofield was reprimanded. When SHOW MISSION was steadied, JOYFUL CHEERS, which was racing outside that horse and travelling keenly, was hampered in consequence.
Passing the 1300 Metres, SHOW MISSION raced in restricted room inside FAIRY FLOSS which shifted in away from FLYING SPIRIT which, when travelling wide and without cover, was being steadied to obtain cover behind FAIRY FLOSS.
Approaching the 900 Metres, WONDERFUL TIGER was shifted out away from the heels of ROMAN IMPERO after being awkwardly placed behind that horse for some distance. WONDERFUL TIGER was then allowed to improve its position into the lead after the 800 Metres.
After the 800 Metres, ENJOYABLE SUCCESS was awkwardly placed behind ROMAN IMPERO.
Approaching the 700 Metres, RUN THE TABLE got its head up when racing close to the heels of SHANGHAI DRAGON.
Passing the 700 Metres, FAIRY FLOSS was awkwardly placed outside the heels of ROMAN IMPERO which shifted out.
Rounding the Home Turn, NITRO EXPRESS was awkwardly placed behind WHO’S HORSE.
At the entrance to the Straight, ENJOYABLE SUCCESS lay out towards the heels of ROMAN IMPERO.
After the 300 Metres, ROMAN IMPERO shifted in and inconvenienced BABY STORM.
Approaching the 50 Metres, BABY STORM shifted in and brushed NITRO EXPRESS. BABY STORM then shifted out, resulting in ROMAN IMPERO being inconvenienced.
M Barzalona (ROMAN IMPERO) was reminded of his obligation in respect of using his whip behind the saddle.
A veterinary inspection of SHANGHAI DRAGON and WHO’S HORSE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
RUN THE TABLE and NITRO EXPRESS were sent for sampling.
