WINNER SUPREME (Apprentice C Wong) began only fairly and was ridden along for some distance in the early stages to obtain a forward position. Apprentice Wong stated that at no stage of the race did WINNER SUPREME travel well and when giving ground in the Straight did not feel comfortable in its action. A veterinary inspection of WINNER SUPREME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of WINNER SUPREME, a favoured runner and which finished at the rear of the field, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WINNER SUPREME will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MASSIVE POCKET shifted out at the start and bumped SMART LEADER. After this, despite being ridden along, SMART LEADER failed to muster speed.
AMAZING CHOCOLATE began only fairly and then was checked when crowded for room inside WILL POWER which was taken in by LARSON which shifted in after becoming unbalanced as a result of being bumped by ENCORE BOY which received contact from SUNNY BOY. After this, from a wide barrier, SUNNY BOY was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Also from the outside barrier, MEGA HEART was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 700 Metres, ENCORE BOY was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 400 Metres, SMART LEADER shifted out and bumped SUNNY BOY, causing both horses to become unbalanced.
A veterinary inspection of LARSON and GUY DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
AMAZING CHOCOLATE and WILL POWER were sent for sampling.
