FABULOUS EIGHT was withdrawn on 6.11.20 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (muscle strain) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter RUBY STARS (H W Lai). Before being allowed to race again, FABULOUS EIGHT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being loaded into the barriers, HEART CONQUERED reared abruptly and struck its head on the overhead partition. HEART CONQUERED was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had sustained an injury to the head and accordingly was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, HEART CONQUERED was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, HEART CONQUERED will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PRINCE OF BON BON and MR LUMIERES were badly crowded for room on jumping between MAN STAR which shifted in and WE THE SOUTH which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. TELECOM PUMA began only fairly and then was bumped by EXCEED THE STARS which shifted out on jumping. IMA SINGLE MAN began awkwardly. Passing the 600 Metres, MR LUMIERES momentarily raced tight inside IMA SINGLE MAN which shifted in before being directed back out. After this, IMA SINGLE MAN, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong, shifted ground on a number of occasions. Close to the finishing line, TELECOM PUMA was awkwardly placed behind DIAMOND BRILLIANT when being shifted to the outside of that horse. Consequently, TELECOM PUMA was not able to be fully ridden out to the end of the race. A veterinary inspection of RUBY STARS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. WE THE SOUTH and HARMONY AND RICH were sent for sampling.
