ELECTRIC LIGHTNING began only fairly. Shortly after the start, PERFECT TO PLAY was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of LADY FIRST which shifted out. From the outside barriers, RIGHT HONOURABLE and HAR HAR HEART were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, CHARITY GRAND raced tight inside PERFECT TO PLAY which got its head on the side and lay in away from EVEN KEEL. Then passing the winning post on the first occasion, PERFECT TO PLAY was eased away from the heels of EVEN KEEL which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of UNIVERSAL GO GO. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, INDIGENOUS STAR got its head on the side when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BIG BANG BONG which was being steadied to obtain cover behind PERFECT TO PLAY. For some distance after the 1200 Metres, LADY FIRST got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FAITHFUL TRINITY. Approaching the 1000 Metres, ELECTRIC LIGHTNING, which was travelling keenly, got its head up when awkwardly placed behind CHARITY GRAND. After the 1000 Metres, HAR HAR HEART travelled wide and without cover. In the early part of the Straight, LADY FIRST got its head on the side and lay in. A veterinary inspection of BIG BANG BONG immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LADY FIRST, FAITHFUL TRINITY and CHARITY GRAND and were sent for sampling.
