BEAUTY LOYAL began only fairly.
ELIGERE was tightened for room on jumping between EXCEPTIONAL NICE and BIG FORTUNE which shifted out.
HINYUEN SWIFTNESS and STANLEY PARK bumped at the start. HINYUEN SWIFTNESS then shifted out, resulting in LIKE THAT and WHAT A LEGEND being crowded for room. After this, WHAT A LEGEND was steadied to obtain cover from a wide barrier.
From the outside barriers, SUPER DOBBIN and WIND N GRASS were also shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, GOOD LUCK FRIEND and BIG FORTUNE raced tight.
Also approaching the 1000 Metres, WHAT A LEGEND momentarily raced tight between BEAUTY LOYAL and SUPER DOBBIN which shifted in before being directed back out. WIND N GRASS was inconvenienced in consequence.
Apprentice C Wong (STANLEY PARK) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 950 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of BIG FORTUNE, resulting in that horse being unnecessarily hampered and taken in onto GOOD LUCK FRIEND which in turn was taken in and crowded the room of BIZ POWER. EXCEPTIONAL NICE, which was following BIG FORTUNE, was checked away from the heels of that horse in consequence. When EXCEPTIONAL NICE was checked, ELIGERE and BEAUTY LOYAL were inconvenienced whilst SUPER DOBBIN was checked away from the heels of EXCEPTIONAL NICE, causing WIND N GRASS to be hampered. Apprentice Wong was suspended from riding in races for the racemeeting to be conducted at Sha Tin on Sunday, 5 July 2020. As such, Apprentice Wong is eligible to resume race riding on Monday, 6 July 2020. In addition, Apprentice Wong was fined $7,500.
Passing the 400 Metres, V Borges (ELIGERE) dropped his whip.
Approaching the 350 Metres, GOOD LUCK FRIEND was shifted to the outside of BIG FORTUNE to obtain clear running.
Passing the 250 Metres, BIZ POWER shifted in and made contact with HINYUEN SWIFTNESS.
Throughout the race, HINYUEN SWIFTNESS travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY LOYAL, HINYUEN SWIFTNESS and LIKE THAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOOD LUCK FRIEND and BIG FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
<22/6/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>BEAUTY LOYAL, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. BEAUTY LOYAL was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A S Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY LOYAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
