RIGHTEOUS WIN began only fairly. WINNING CONTROLLER shifted out at the start and bumped CASIMIRO. CASIMIRO, CHEVALIER PRINCE and TRIUMPHANT HORSE were then crowded for room between WINNING CONTROLLER and MIGHTY POWER (Apprentice C L Chau) which shifted in. MIGHTY POWER became unbalanced after making contact with TRIUMPHANT HORSE and continued to shift in. Apprentice Chau was advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances. BEST FOR YOU shifted in on jumping, despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in HANG’S DECISION being crowded for room. LUCKY MISSILE was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. CASA DE FORCA shifted out at the start and bumped WINSTON’S LAD. From the outside barriers, WINSTON’S LAD and GENERAL CASTLEDALE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 1300 Metres, CHEVALIER PRINCE, which was being ridden along, was steadied away from the heels of TRIUMPHANT HORSE (C Schofield) which shifted in when not properly clear. C Schofield was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he exercises more care. After the 1000 Metres, BEST FOR YOU was left racing wide and without cover and then became unbalanced making the turn at the 900 Metres when CHEVALIER PRINCE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of RIGHTEOUS WIN which shifted out. Near the 850 Metres, MIGHTY POWER got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SPRINT FORWARD. WINNING CONTROLLER, which was following MIGHTY POWER, shifted out away from the heels of that horse in consequence and then raced tight inside TRIUMPHANT HORSE after the 800 Metres. In this incident, TRIUMPHANT HORSE and WINNING CONTROLLER became unbalanced and bumped on a number of occasions. Passing the 500 Metres, BEST FOR YOU raced tight outside CHEVALIER PRINCE which shifted out. MIGHTY POWER was held up for clear running from on entering the Straight until after the 300 Metres. In the early part of the Straight, CHEVALIER PRINCE lay out under pressure. A veterinary inspection of TRIUMPHANT HORSE, BEST FOR YOU and WINNING CONTROLLER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. CASA DE FORCA and CHEVALIER PRINCE were sent for sampling. <18/5/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>TRIUMPHANT HORSE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. TRIUMPHANT HORSE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K H Ting this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, TRIUMPHANT HORSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
