CLASSIC BEAUTY was withdrawn on 14.4.20 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SUPER FAST (K Teetan). Before being allowed to race again, CLASSIC BEAUTY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ENFOLDING and ALPHA HEDGE were crowded for room on jumping between CHAMP PATROL which shifted in marginally and BEST ALLIANCE which shifted out. REEL BIZZY shifted out at the start and bumped SUPER FAST. From wide barriers, ALCARI, REEL BIZZY, SUPER FAST and FLYING QUEST were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After being shifted across behind runners in the early stages, FLYING QUEST, despite being ridden along, became detached from the field before joining the main body of the field near the 1100 Metres. In the early stages, REEL BIZZY was left racing wide and without cover and after the 1000 Metres was allowed to improve its position, however, continued to race very wide and without cover. Near the 450 Metres, ALCARI and ENFOLDING raced tight. J Moreira pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 300 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of CHAMP PATROL, resulting in that horse being hampered and taken in onto JOLLY HONOUR which was in turn taken in across the rightful running of SUPER FAST which was checked. J Moreira was suspended from riding in races for the racemeeting to be conducted at Happy Valley on Wednesday, 22 April 2020. As such, J Moreira is eligible to resume race riding on Thursday, 23 April 2020. In addition, Jockey Moreira was fined $60,000. Close to the finishing line, REEL BIZZY was crowded for room between BEST ALLIANCE and ALPHA HEDGE, both of which shifted slightly. Consequently, REEL BIZZY was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race. A veterinary inspection of SUPER FAST immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of ALCARI immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. ALPHA HEDGE, SUNSHINE WARRIOR and MAGNIFICENT were sent for sampling.
