ROCKAGE shifted out at the start and bumped TRIUMPHAL WIN. ROCKAGE was then crowded for room between TRIUMPHAL WIN and VICTORIOUS LEADER which shifted out. WINWIN THIRTYTHREE began only fairly. From the outside barrier, IRON BRAVO was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. Shortly after the start, SEIZE THE SPIRIT got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover. After the 900 Metres, GOOD CHOICE AHEAD was left racing wide and without cover. Making the turns and particularly rounding the Home Turn, FLYING MONKEY got its head on the side and hung out. Approaching the 300 Metres, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE shifted out and bumped GALAXY RACER which was shifted to the inside of TRIUMPHANT LORD to improve. Passing the 200 Metres, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE and GALAXY RACER raced tight as both horses improved into tight running inside SMILING SUCCESS. After the 200 Metres, TRIUMPHANT LORD raced tight inside RED BRICK FIGHTER which shifted in. Near the 75 Metres, SMILING SUCCESS shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of RED BRICK FIGHTER (N Callan) which shifted in marginally. This resulted in SMILING SUCCESS being hampered and RED BRICK FIGHTER becoming badly unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by SMILING SUCCESS. In this incident, N Callan stopped riding and straightened his mount and because of this RED BRICK FIGHTER was not able to be properly tested over the concluding stages. SMILING SUCCESS then raced tight outside GALAXY RACER close to the finishing line and due to these incidents was not able to be fully tested over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of FLYING MONKEY and SOLAR BILLION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. VICTORIOUS LEADER, SEIZE THE SPIRIT and GALAXY RACER were sent for sampling.
