As the start was effected, ADONIS lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin.
MY WINNER, which began only fairly, shifted out at the start and bumped SPEEDY DRAGON.
LEADING FORTUNE shifted in at the start and brushed WINNING TOGETHER.
From the outside barrier, JOY N FUN LEGEND was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
CASIMIRO was held up for clear running from approaching the 300 Metres until near the 250 Metres. Then when improving between KING’S RACE and SUNSHINE WARRIOR, CASIMIRO was crowded for room between SUNSHINE WARRIOR and KING’S RACE (C Y Ho) which shifted out. After racing in restricted room, CASIMIRO was checked between KING’S RACE which was straightened by its rider and SUNSHINE WARRIOR (T Piccone) which shifted in. Having considered the circumstances of the incident, both C Y Ho and T Piccone were severely reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances they would be expected to do more than they did on this occasion to prevent their mounts from shifting ground.
Passing the 300 Metres, FANTASTIC BOY got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of BEST FOR YOU. When directed out away from the heels of BEST FOR YOU, FANTASTIC BOY then shifted out away from BEST FOR YOU, resulting in LEADING FORTUNE being taken out across the running of SPEEDY DRAGON which was steadied. After this, FANTASTIC BOY continued to lay out under pressure. SPEEDY DRAGON subsequently had some difficulty obtaining clear running and approaching the 200 Metres was directed to the outside of LEADING FORTUNE to improve.
Near the 50 Metres, KING’S RACE shifted out and bumped SUNSHINE WARRIOR.
Close to the finishing line, MY WINNER’s racing room commenced to be restricted between KING’S RACE and SAM’S LOVE which shifted out.
Throughout the race, BEST FOR YOU travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of SPEEDY DRAGON and ADONIS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
KING’S RACE, WINNING TOGETHER and CASIMIRO were sent for sampling.
