BEAUTY SPARK shifted out at the start and bumped VICTORY POWER.
SPECIAL STARS, HAPPY WARRIOR, FAIRY TWINS and SHANGHAI MASTER were all steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
When being steadied to obtain cover after the 1100 Metres, BLOTTING PAPER travelled keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions.
AURORA PEGASUS (Z Purton) was held up for clear running from passing the 300 Metres until near the 200 Metres. AURORA PEGASUS then raced tight inside BEAUTY SPARK until near the 150 Metres. As Z Purton pulled his whip into his right hand after the 150 Metres, he dropped his right rein which he was unable to regather prior to the end of the race.
Close to the finishing line, AURORA PEGASUS raced tight inside BEAUTY SPARK which got its head on the side and lay in away from VICTORY POWER.
A veterinary inspection of SPECIAL STARS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
AURORA PEGASUS, BABY and VICTORY POWER were sent for sampling.
<9/1/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Surgeon reported that AURORA PEGASUS was lame in its left hind leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, AURORA PEGASUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
