As the start was effected, SACRED TIMING reared, struck its head on the overhead partition and consequently lost a significant amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, SACRED TIMING will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
WINNER’S HEART began awkwardly.
NOBLE DESIRE became badly unbalanced when crowded for room shortly after the start between PRESIDENT’S CHOICE which shifted out and TATTENHALL FORTUNE which shifted in after being bumped by TRUST ME. In this incident, both TATTENHALL FORTUNE and PRESIDENT’S CHOICE became unbalanced as a result of the contact. Then a short distance later, PRESIDENT’S CHOICE was crowded for room between NOBLE DESIRE which shifted in after becoming unbalanced and HAPPY VICTORY which got its head on the side and shifted out marginally.
PRAWN YEAH YEAH and BELLA BABY bumped at the start.
Passing the 500 Metres, TREASURE CHEST shifted out and brushed WINNER’S HEART.
Passing the 400 Metres, BELLA BABY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PRAWN YEAH HEAH and near the 350 Metres raced tight inside PRAWN YEAH YEAH and to the outside of TRUST ME.
Passing the 300 Metres, EIGHT TRIGRAMS was awkwardly placed between COMPASSION SPIRIT and PRAWN YEAH YEAH which shifted out marginally.
Near the 250 Metres, EIGHT TRIGRAMS and PRAWN YEAH YEAH were crowded for room between COMPASSION SPIRIT and WINNER’S HEART (Z Purton) which shifted out. WINNER’S HEART then shifted in as a result of being corrected by its rider which resulted in BELLA BABY being checked away from the heels of WINNER’S HEART.
Near the 200 Metres, TATTENHALL FORTUNE was momentarily awkwardly placed behind WILD WEST WING as that horse shifted out under pressure before being straightened by its rider.
Close to the finishing line, WILD WEST WING was awkwardly placed outside the heels of NOBLE DESIRE.
T Piccone (MASTER GALAXY) was warned against the practice of raising his whip arm above the height of his shoulder.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that MASTER GALAXY had bled from both nostrils.
A veterinary inspection of WILD WEST WING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WILD WEST WING, TRUST ME and PRESIDENT’S CHOICE were sent for sampling.
