Whilst proceeding from the Parade Ring, KING’S TROOPER became fractious and was reluctant to enter the track. KING’S TROOPER subsequently reared and fell over, dislodging its rider, K C Leung. KING’S TROOPER then proceeded some distance down the horse path towards the stables complex before being recaptured. Acting on veterinary advice that KING’S TROOPER was not suitable to race, that horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, KING’S TROOPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. K C Leung was subsequently examined by the Club’s Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements. LEAP OF FAITH began awkwardly, bumped heavily with WHO’S HORSE and consequently lost ground at the start. MY WINNER began awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with the hindquarters of SKYEY SUPREME. Due to the contact on its hindquarters, SKYEY SUPREME then shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in MY WINNER clipping the heels of that horse, stumbling badly and losing ground. From wide barriers, BLAZING PARTNERS and SKYEY SUPREME were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. After being shifted out rounding the Home Turn, BLAZING PARTNERS was momentarily held up behind the tiring KA YING BRILLIANCE and was then shifted in away from the heels of that horse in the early part of the Straight to continue improving. MY WINNER, which was closing off the race well, was shifted out away from the heels of SUNSHINE WARRIOR near the 50 Metres. SUNSHINE WARRIOR was inclined to shift ground on a number of occasions in the Straight, requiring its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount. Throughout the race, KA YING BRILLIANCE travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. SAM’S LOVE and LEAP OF FAITH were sent for sampling.
