TRIUMPHANT LORD and STARLOT bumped at the start. TRIUMPHANT LORD then lost ground when crowded for room between STARLOT and RUN MOOCHI which shifted out. In this incident, RUN MOOCHI became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by TRIUMPHANT LORD. SUREWIN was crowded for room on jumping between CHARITYDREAM and CORRE RAPIDO which shifted in. JIMSON THE DRAGON shifted out at the start and bumped BOND ELEGANCE. After travelling a short distance, BOND ELEGANCE became badly unbalanced when bumped by JIMSON THE DRAGON which was taken out by ISLAND WINNER which stumbled badly on jumping. KING MORTAR took a considerable distance to muster speed despite being hard ridden in the early stages and then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of KING MORTAR immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Making the turn after the 700 Metres, ISLAND WINNER got its head on the side and lay out. Near the 550 Metres, EXPONENTS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CORRE RAPIDO. RUN MOOCHI was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight and after being shifted to the inside of CHARITYDREAM near the 350 Metres then raced in restricted room inside that horse until approaching the 200 Metres. EXPONENTS was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight and near the 300 Metres was steadied away from the heels of CORRE RAPIDO. EXPONENTS was then shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running. Close to the finishing line, the whip of A Sanna (ISLAND WINNER) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of J Moreira (EXPONENTS). N Callan (SUREWIN) was spoken to regarding raising his whip arm above the height of his shoulder. He was reminded this was the second occasion in recent times that the Stewards had to speak to him regarding this matter. A veterinary inspection of CORRE RAPIDO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. EXPONENTS, STRIKING MR C and RUN MOOCHI were sent for sampling. <2/12/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Surgeon reported that RUN MOOCHI had sustained an injury to the left front tendon on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, RUN MOOCHI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
