At the 1300 Metres, PLAYA DEL PUENTE was left racing wide and without cover. When racing without cover, PLAYA DEL PUENTE raced keenly for some distance approaching the 1000 Metres and then after passing the 900 Metres was allowed to improve quickly around the field to race outside the lead before crossing CIRCUIT GLORY after the 600 Metres. For some distance after the 1000 Metres, HAPPY DRAGON travelled keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MR SO AND SO. K Teetan (PLAYA DEL PUENTE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 600 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of CIRCUIT GLORY, resulting in that horse being hampered and very awkwardly placed on the heels of PLAYA DEL PUENTE. K Teetan was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 27 October 2019 and to expire on Thursday, 31 October 2019 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Teetan’s good race riding record. When checked away from the heels of PLAYA DEL PUENTE, CIRCUIT GLORY shifted out, resulting in TURIN REDSTAR being hampered and taken wider. HARMONY HERO, which was following, was forced wider in consequence. CIRCUIT GLORY then remained awkwardly placed close to the heels of PLAYA DEL PUENTE and shifted in at the 500 Metres, resulting in MR SO AND SO being checked and consequently shifted out and raced tight inside TURIN REDSTAR for some distance. For some distance after the 150 Metres, TURIN REDSTAR lay in away from HAPPY DRAGON (M Chadwick) which shifted in under pressure, resulting in PLAYA DEL PUENTE being steadied away from the heels of TURIN REDSTAR at the 75 Metres. Then over the concluding stages, TURIN REDSTAR was awkwardly placed inside the heels of HAPPY DRAGON which continued to shift in under pressure. M Chadwick was reprimanded and told that in similar circumstances he must stop riding and straighten his mounts. A veterinary inspection of GREEN LUCK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. A veterinary inspection of VICTORY BOYS and GOOD OMEN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GREEN LUCK, HAPPY DRAGON and DANCES WITH DRAGON were sent for sampling.
