THEBEASTFORTHEEAST began only fairly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed. CEREFINO and STARLIGHT bumped heavily at the start. MR GENUINE shifted out at the start and bumped MEGA HEART which was then shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. JOYFUL MOMENTS began awkwardly and then shifted in shortly after the start and bumped HANDSOME REBEL. From the outside barrier, AFRICAN SKY was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. When being steadied to obtain cover behind CEREFINO, ENSHRINED commenced to prove difficult to settle approaching the 1000 Metres and then was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CEREFINO after passing the 1000 Metres. PING HAI GALAXY lost its right hind plate passing the 1000 Metres. After the 900 Metres, HANDSOME REBEL over-raced when being steadied to allow JOYFUL MOMENTS to cross. HANDSOME REBEL was left racing wide and without cover approaching the 600 Metres. Passing the 600 Metres, HANDSOME REBEL was bumped by MR GENUINE which shifted out away from the heels of CEREFINO which came under pressure. After this, CEREFINO commenced to give ground and finished tailed out. The performance of CEREFINO was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CEREFINO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CEREFINO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Passing the 200 Metres, ENSHRINED improved into tight running inside PING HAI GALAXY. A veterinary inspection of HANDSOME REBEL and PING HAI GALAXY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MR GENUINE and MEGA HEART were sent for sampling.
