SPRINT FORWARD shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of SUPER JUNIOR which became unbalanced. TELECOM ROCKET began awkwardly. HOLEE MONEY was crowded for room on jumping between CLASSIC UNICORN which shifted in initially and ALLIED AGILITY which shifted out. This resulted in HOLEE MONEY becoming badly unbalanced after bumping with ALLIED AGILITY. Near the 700 Metres, ALLIED AGILITY shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of HOLEE MONEY which became unbalanced. Then near the 600 Metres, HOLEE MONEY and ALLIED AGILITY bumped as both horses raced tight outside ROMAN ODYSSEY. Passing the 500 Metres, SIMPLY FLUKE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SPRINT FORWARD. Then near the 450 Metres, SIMPLY FLUKE became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by NEW DYNAMIC which shifted out. Throughout the early and middle stages, CLASSIC UNICORN raced with its head on the side and lay in and passing the 250 Metres shifted ground when hanging in. When questioned regarding the performance of ALLIED AGILITY, M Harley stated that with the horse having risen in the ratings following its first up success and carrying top weight in today’s race, he was instructed to obtain a trailing position behind the anticipated leader CLASSIC UNICORN. He said he was able to obtain this position in the early stages without having to make use of ALLIED AGILITY and the horse initially travelled satisfactorily. He said however that after racing in restricted room between HOLEE MONEY and ROMAN ODYSSEY, ALLIED AGILITY came under pressure near the 500 Metres. He said ALLIED AGILITY did not quicken as it did in its first up race and then did not finish off the race over the concluding stages and gave ground. He added he had ridden ALLIED AGILITY in a number of pieces of track work leading up to today’s race and he felt that the horse had improved on its first up success and therefore a forward showing was expected today. He said, in his opinion, ALLIED AGILITY was disappointing as he was not able to offer any explanation for the horse’s failure to finish off the race. The performance of ALLIED AGILITY, a last start winner, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ALLIED AGILITY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of ALLIED AGILITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of AURORA STEED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. CLASSIC UNICORN and GUNNAR were sent for sampling. <3/6/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>ALLIED AGILITY, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. ALLIED AGILITY was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P F Yiu this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg with wounds to the cannon. As previously advised, ALLIED AGILITY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
