GREAT HARVEST and WINNING TOGETHER began only fairly. MR MAGELLAN shifted out abruptly across the heels of RED BRICK FIGHTER on jumping and lost ground. BEAUTY ENERGY lost ground on jumping when crowded for room between MURRAY’S PARTNERS and SONIC FIGHTER which shifted in. In this incident, MURRAY’S PARTNERS became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by BEAUTY ENERGY. After being ridden along in the early stages, THOU SHALL SING was steadied after the 1300 Metres to obtain cover when racing wide. Passing the 550 Metres, MR MAGELLAN became unbalanced when being checked away from the heels of DIAMOND LEGEND. In this incident, MR MAGELLAN shifted out and bumped PEARL CHAMPION. At the entrance to the Straight, PEARL CHAMPION was shifted out away from the heels of DIAMOND LEGEND which had been taken wider by THOU SHALL SING which shifted out after being bumped by SOCCER MASTER (C Y Ho) which, when being shifted to the outside of RED BRICK FIGHTER, became awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse. C Y Ho was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Passing the 300 Metres, DIAMOND LEGEND raced tight between PEARL CHAMPION and THOU SHALL SING (Apprentice C Wong) which shifted out under pressure. Apprentice Wong was advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances. For the majority of the race, RED BRICK FIGHTER travelled wide and without cover. After the race, Z Purton reported that VOYAGE STAR, which weakened in the Straight, made an abnormal breathing noise during and after the race. The performance of VOYAGE STAR, favourite for today’s race, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VOYAGE STAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of VOYAGE STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of WINNING TOGETHER and DIAMOND LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. VOYAGE STAR, BEAUTY ENERGY and SONIC FIGHTER were sent for sampling. <15/4/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>WINNING TOGETHER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. WINNING TOGETHER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer F C Lor this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a severely restricted action in all four limbs. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING TOGETHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
