COMPLACENCY was withdrawn on 2.4.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, COMPLACENCY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Almost simultaneously with the start being effected, COBY OPPA became fractious and then began only fairly.
ENCORE BOY stumbled badly at the start and lost ground.
TEAM FORTUNE lost its right front plate at the start.
Approaching and passing the 600 Metres, COBY OPPA (K Teetan) lay in despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in LUCKY TIME being crowded for room and becoming badly unbalanced when checked near the 550 Metres. K Teetan was advised that whilst the Stewards accepted that COBY OPPA had been laying in onto LUCKY TIME for some distance and that he had made a reasonable effort to shift the horse out to relieve the tightening to LUCKY TIME, nonetheless he was warned against the practice of using his whip in these circumstances.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on HOME RUN at the request of Trainer K H Ting. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HOME RUN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of ENCORE BOY and WINNING SUPREME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
JUST NOT LISTENING and COBY OPPA were sent for sampling.
