On arrival at the Start, HOME RUN had its left hind plate refitted. HOME RUN was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
FARSHAD began awkwardly.
MR WEALTH was checked when crowded for room on jumping between RIGHT CHOICE and ENCOURAGING, both of which shifted ground.
HAPPY FORCE shifted out at the start and bumped WINSTON’S LAD.
WINSTON’S LAD lost its left front plate at the start.
When being steadied from a wide barrier, DELIGHT EXPRESS got its head up on a number of occasions.
From the outside barrier, DEFINING MOMENT was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After travelling a short distance, WINSTON’S LAD was shifted out away from the heels of HAPPY FORCE when that horse shifted out.
Approaching the 1100 Metres, RIGHT CHOICE and SMART CHARADE raced tight.
MR WEALTH had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 250 Metres.
Over the final 200 Metres, ENCOURAGING lay in under pressure.
Passing the 100 Metres, HAPPY FORCE lay out under pressure and raced tight inside RACING FIGHTER.
Over the concluding stages, DARING FIT was held up for clear running and was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
A veterinary inspection of HOME RUN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
RIGHT CHOICE and RACING FIGHTER were sent for sampling.
