WINNING ENDEAVOUR was slow to begin
LUCKY GUY was crowded for room on jumping between CALLING THE SHOTS which shifted in and BIG FORTUNE which was taken out by KING OPIE.
KASI FARASI and KEY WITNESS made heavy contact at the start, causing both horses to become badly unbalanced and for KASI FARASI to shift in and bump SPEEDY KING heavily, causing that horse to also become unbalanced. After this, KASI FARASI was steadied and shifted across behind runners.
LUCKY GUY made the turn after the 700 Metres awkwardly when travelling keenly.
Passing the 300 Metres, KASI FARASI was shifted out away from the heels of TOP SCORE to continue improving.
Throughout the race, CALLING THE SHOTS travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, S de Sousa reported that BIG FORTUNE weakened in the Straight after travelling well throughout the early and middle stages. He said the manner in which BIG FORTUNE did not finish off the race indicated to him that it may not have handled today’s track conditions. A veterinary inspection of BIG FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
VICTORY MACHINE and KING OPIE were sent for sampling.
