PENZANCE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of TRIUMPH. In the early stages, ROCK THE TREE and SWEET BEAN were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. Passing the 1800 Metres, COME ON WONGCHOY got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of CLEMENT LEGEND which shifted in marginally, resulting in COME ON WONGCHOY having to be checked away from the heels of CLEMENT LEGEND and losing ground. Near the 750 Metres, TRIUMPH was awkwardly placed behind PROUD SKY. K Teetan (CLEMENT LEGEND) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 600 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of PEARL FURU, causing that horse to be unnecessarily crowded for room and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. K Teetan was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 28 November 2018 and to expire on Monday, 3 December 2018 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Teetan’s good race riding record. A veterinary inspection of SWEET BEAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. CLEMENT LEGEND and PEARL FURU were sent for sampling.
