SCARBOROUGH FAIR shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of DRAGON WARRIOR which was racing tight inside MASSIVE MOVE which was taken in marginally by SHOW MISSION. This resulted in DRAGON WARRIOR becoming unbalanced and shifting in, causing SCARBOROUGH FAIR to be crowded for room between DRAGON WARRIOR and YOUNG DREAMER. YOUNG DREAMER then shifted out abruptly when bumped on the hindquarters by SCARBOROUGH FAIR, resulting in SCARBOROUGH FAIR being severely checked and blundering and consequently racing at the rear of the field. As the Stewards were satisfied that the incident had been initiated by SCARBOROUGH FAIR shifting out and bumping DRAGON WARRIOR and as there was no rider carelessness involved, no further action was taken. When SHOW MISSION shifted in and bumped MASSIVE MOVE on jumping, SHOW MISSION got its head up when being straightened by its rider.
From a wide barrier, SNOWHOOVES was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Despite being vigorously ridden in the early stages, MASSIVE MOVE failed to muster speed.
Passing the 1150 Metres, SHOW MISSION became unbalanced when momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of EVER STRONG.
Approaching the 400 Metres, YOUNG DREAMER became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by EXPONENTS which attempted to shift to the outside of M REBORN. EXPONENTS was then directed to the inside of M REBORN shortly after entering the Straight to obtain clear running.
EXPONENTS was shifted to the inside of EVER STRONG passing the 150 Metres to continue improving.
Passing the 150 Metres, the whip of C Schofield (THE HAPPY BUNCH) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of N Callan (SHOW MISSION).
Throughout the race, DRAGON WARRIOR and THE HAPPY BUNCH travelled wide and without cover.
MASSIVE MOVE lost its left front plate after the race.
A veterinary inspection of MASSIVE MOVE and M REBORN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOLDEN EFFORT and DRAGON WARRIOR were sent for sampling.
