GOKO began only fairly, shifted out at the start and bumped HIGH VOLATILITY. HIGH VOLATILITY then shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of STRATHCLYDE which became unbalanced, resulting in STRATHCLYDE shifting in and causing HIGH VOLATILITY to be crowded for room outside GOKO which was awkwardly placed outside GOLDEN DASH. In the early and middle stages, NICE FANDANGO got its head on the side and lay in. C Murray (GOLDEN DASH) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 300 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of STRATHCLYDE, causing that horse to be unnecessarily crowded for room and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. C Murray was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 12 September 2018 and to expire on Monday, 17 September 2018 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). A veterinary inspection of STRATHCLYDE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GOKO and GOLDEN DASH were sent for sampling.
