Shortly after the start, BELLA BABY shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of TOUCHDOWN STRIKER which became unbalanced.
Passing the 400 Metres, BELLA BABY was awkwardly placed behind TOUCHDOWN STRIKER and SUPER MODEL.
Near the 75 Metres, K Teetan (STRATHALLAN) dropped his right rein which he was unable to effectively regather for the remainder of the race.
When questioned regarding the performance of SUPER MODEL, Apprentice C Wong stated that after placing his mount under pressure passing the 500 Metres, the horse did not respond to his riding and weakened noticeably over the latter stages. He said whilst SUPER MODEL did not make any respiratory sound during the race, on pulling up the horse made a number of significant breathing noises. A veterinary inspection of SUPER MODEL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
QUADRUPLE DOUBLE, THANKS FOREVER and STRATHALLAN were sent for sampling.
