As the start was effected, MASSIVE MOVE turned its head to the left and consequently lost a significant amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, MASSIVE MOVE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. SUPERICH began awkwardly, shifted out at the start and bumped TEAM SPIRIT. PEACE COMBINATION began only fairly. Near the 800 Metres, MIGHTY MAVERICK lost ground when momentarily crowded for room between SUPERICH and MAGIC SUCCESS (Z Purton) which, after initially being directed out by PEACE COMBINATION (Apprentice M F Poon) which lay out away from OCEAN ROAR, then shifted out marginally away from that horse. As the Stewards were satisfied that no rider error was associated with this incident, no further action was taken other than Z Purton and Apprentice Poon were advised to make every endeavour to prevent their horses from shifting ground. Passing the 400 Metres, SUNSHINE HOLIDAY was steadied away from the heels of HK TOURBILLON which shifted in abruptly after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER EIGHTEEN. Near the 350 Metres, GREAT SON and SUNSHINE HOLIDAY bumped as a result of both horses shifting ground. Passing the 300 Metres, PEACE COMBINATION and MAGIC SUCCESS raced tight inside OCEAN ROAR which shifted in marginally under pressure. Near the 200 Metres, JUST NOT LISTENING was checked when crowded for room outside TEAM SPIRIT (N Rawiller) which got its head on the side and shifted out momentarily. As the Stewards were satisfied that N Rawiller had responded promptly to TEAM SPIRIT shifting ground and had stopped riding and corrected his mount, no further action was taken. HK TOURBILLON raced greenly under pressure over the latter stages of the race. A veterinary inspection of PEACE COMBINATION and MAGIC SUCCESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUPERICH and TEAM SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
