CLUB LIFE was withdrawn on 1.4.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, CLUB LIFE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PO CHING TREASURE shifted in at the start and bumped CLEMENT LEGEND which in turn shifted in and bumped DASHING DART. After beginning well, GOOD FOR YOU was steadied from a wide barrier in an attempt to obtain cover. When being steadied, GOOD FOR YOU travelled keenly and took some time to be able to shift across to race behind ART OF RAW. GOOD FOR YOU then travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. From the outside barrier, ROYALE ELEGANCE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. For a considerable distance after the 1100 Metres, AMAZING SATCHMO commenced to prove very difficult to settle and had to be checked away from the heels of LUCKY WIN WIN. Approaching the 600 Metres, CLEMENT LEGEND raced tight between LUCKY WIN WIN and GOOD FOR YOU. At the entrance to the Straight, CLEMENT LEGEND was hampered when having to be steadied away from the heels of ROYALE ELEGANCE (B Prebble) which shifted out. B Prebble was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. ART OF RAW travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. ROYALE ELEGANCE lost its right front plate after the race. When questioned, K C Leung stated that at its most recent start DASHING DART was able to take up a forward position behind the leaders without having to be vigorously ridden along to do so due to the horse having drawn barrier 1. He said today from barrier 7 he was asked to ensure that he obtained cover on DASHING DART as the horse had previously not finished off its races when ridden along to obtain a forward position. He said accordingly he steadied DASHING DART in the early stages and was able to obtain a position with cover behind ART OF RAW albeit in a three wide position. He said DASHING DART travelled satisfactorily in the run, however, after being shifted to the outside of ART OF RAW at the entrance to the Straight was then disappointing in the manner in which it failed to finish off the race. When questioned regarding the performance of TELECOM MAN, N Rawiller stated that his mount travelled well in the early and middle stages and he expected the horse to finish off the race strongly. He said TELECOM MAN improved its position to be racing outside the leader VIVA COUNCIL near the 350 Metres and he felt the horse was still travelling strongly at this time. He said approaching the 200 Metres TELECOM MAN did not improve past VIVA COUNCIL as he expected it would and then was particularly disappointing in the manner in which it gave ground. He said after the race TELECOM MAN felt comfortable in its action and he was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of the horse. A veterinary inspection of TELECOM MAN immediately following the race revealed the horse to have sustained a minor overreach wound to the outside of the left front heel. A veterinary inspection of DASHING DART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. AMAZING SATCHMO, RED ELYSEES and PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT were sent for sampling.
