When proceeding to the Start, Z Purton dismounted from BALTIC WHISPER when the horse shifted its left front plate. On arrival at the Start, BALTIC WHISPER was replated and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was suitable to race.
POWER MAN was slow to begin.
TOP BEAUTIFUL shifted out at the start and bumped MONEYMORE.
ACE KING began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped JOY MASTER.
In the early stages, MONEYMORE travelled keenly when being steadied in an attempt to obtain cover.
Approaching the 800 Metres, WAYFOONG VINNIE raced in restricted room between HAPPY HAPPY STAR and MEGA HEART.
Approaching the 300 Metres, ACE KING was shifted to the inside of MEGA HEART in an attempt to improve into tight running between MEGA HEART and WAYFOONG VINNIE.
Passing the 300 Metres, ACE KING was steadied when disappointed for running between MEGA HEART and WAYFOONG VINNIE, both of which shifted ground. After this, ACE KING was shifted back to the outside of MEGA HEART.
Passing the 200 Metres, ROYAL MOJITO momentarily raced tight between MONEY BOY (B Prebble) which got its head on the side and lay out under pressure and HAIR TRIGGER which was being shifted to the inside of TOP BEAUTIFUL to obtain clear running. HAIR TRIGGER was then momentarily held up for clear running behind TOP BEAUTIFUL when unable to immediately shift to the inside of that horse due to ROYAL MOJITO racing tight to its inside. In this incident, B Prebble also stopped riding and shifted his mount in to relieve the tightening to ROYAL MOJITO.
MY CHANCE brushed the running rail near the 50 Metres and became unbalanced.
BALTIC WHISPER lost its right front plate after the race.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on MEGA HEART at the request of Trainer C Fownes. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MEGA HEART will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of HAPPY HAPPY STAR and ROYAL MOJITO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
TOP BEAUTIFUL, BALTIC WHISPER and WAYFOONG VINNIE were sent for sampling.
