HOME RUN began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped RIGHTEOUS MATE which also shifted in.
After the 1000 Metres, LET US WIN was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 350 Metres, LET US WIN shifted in and bumped MCQUEEN which became unbalanced.
When questioned, K C Leung stated that he was asked to ride SUCH A HAPPINESS in a midfield position with cover if possible from the outside barrier. He said it was anticipated that the race would not be run at a good tempo and it would therefore be detrimental to SUCH A HAPPINESS’ chances were the horse to get too far back in the early stages. He said after beginning positively on SUCH A HAPPINESS, he steadied the horse in the early stages in an endeavour to obtain a position with cover, however, due to the field being compact as a result of the slow early tempo, SUCH A HAPPINESS was left racing wide and without cover and therefore, to prevent having to cover unnecessary ground, he allowed SUCH A HAPPINESS to stride forward to race outside the lead approaching the 1000 Metres.
After the race, N Rawiller reported that HOME RUN shortened stride noticeably after the 200 Metres which prompted him to ease the horse down over the concluding stages when out of contention. A veterinary inspection of HOME RUN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, HOME RUN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of GONNA RUN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
MORETHANLUCKY and CALCULATION were sent for sampling.
