DARING FIT shifted out at the start and bumped UP AND COMING. TAI SMART was then taken out by UP AND COMING, resulting in HOME RUN being crowded for room inside ISHVARA. From the outside barrier, RATTAN was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For some distance in the early stages, IMPERIAL GALLANTRY raced with its head on the side and lay out away from the rail and approaching and passing the 1100 Metres raced tight inside BRING IT ON which shifted in after being awkwardly placed inside ISHVARA. IMPERIAL GALLANTRY continued to travel keenly and after the 1000 Metres was checked away from the heels of BRING IT ON. Passing the 800 Metres, IMPERIAL GALLANTRY got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of UP AND COMING. Near the 650 Metres, IMPERIAL GALLANTRY, which was proving very difficult to settle, got its head up when being checked away from the heels of BRING IT ON. Passing the 550 Metres, BRING IT ON was steadied away from the heels of GENERAL DINO after improving to the inside of that horse where there was insufficient room. Approaching the 500 Metres, UP AND COMING was checked away from the heels of ISHVARA which shifted to the outside of MARQULA when that horse commenced to give ground. In this incident, UP AND COMING shifted out away from the heels of ISHVARA, resulting in FAST MOST FURIOUS racing tight inside TOP ACT. In the Straight, IMPERIAL GALLANTRY hung out and near the 350 Metres was awkwardly placed inside MARQULA which was giving ground. IMPERIAL GALLANTRY continued to hang out and near the 250 Metres was awkwardly placed outside the heels of BRING IT ON which was shifting out to obtain clear running. Passing the 300 Metres, FAST MOST FURIOUS was awkwardly placed inside TOP ACT. Near the 150 Metres, IMPERIAL GALLANTRY, which continued to lay out, was shifted to the outside of ISHVARA. Passing the 100 Metres, C Schofield (RATTAN) dropped his whip. Close to the finishing line, AGREE was steadied away from the heels of HOME RUN (N Rawiller) which shifted in under pressure. Because of this, AGREE was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race. N Rawiller was reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount. Throughout the race, SERGEANT TITANIUM travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, N Rawiller stated that it had been intended for HOME RUN to be ridden in about a midfield position, however, coming back in distance to 1600 Metres the horse did not show early speed after being hampered at the start and consequently got back in the field. He said after the 1200 Metres the tempo of the race slowed appreciably and when the race continued to be run at a very slow tempo, he elected to shift to the outside of TOP ACT after the 800 Metres and commenced to improve around the field. He said he did not believe it would be in the best interests of HOME RUN to remain racing at the rear of the field given the slow pace as he felt that when the tempo of the race inevitably quickened, HOME RUN would be left flat-footed and would therefore not be able to finish off the race. He said when improving around the field in the middle stages, he did not have to ride his mount along, rather he allowed the horse’s momentum to improve its position. He added he placed HOME RUN under pressure in the early part of the Straight and the horse responded well and it was only over the concluding stages that HOME RUN commenced to weaken on its run. When questioned, S Clipperton stated that FAST MOST FURIOUS sweated up badly behind the barriers and then after being placed in the barriers was fractious. He said, in his opinion, FAST MOST FURIOUS had largely run its race prior to the start being effected as the horse raced in a lethargic manner and did not close off the race. A veterinary inspection of FAST MOST FURIOUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of IMPERIAL GALLANTRY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. RATTAN and DARING FIT were sent for sampling. <13/11/2017 Additional Veterinary Report>FAST MOST FURIOUS, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. FAST MOST FURIOUS was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D J Hall yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, FAST MOST FURIOUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
