NUMERO UNO, which was being steadied to obtain cover from the barriers, was bumped on jumping by CORRE RAPIDO which shifted in. MULTIGOGO shifted in at the start and bumped MANFUL STAR. HAPPY FIERY DRAGON and BOND ELEGANCE bumped on jumping, resulting in HAPPY FIERY DRAGON stumbling. From the outside barriers, CAPE THE FAITH, PLANET STAR and RIVERSIDE BIRD were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres, HAPPY HAPPY was crowded for room inside HAPPY FIERY DRAGON which shifted in when being steadied away from the heels of BOND ELEGANCE (C Y Ho) which shifted in when not quite clear. C Y Ho was reprimanded. In this incident, NUMERO UNO, which was following HAPPY FIERY DRAGON, was inconvenienced in consequence. Passing the 800 Metres, MULTIGOGO was shifted out away from the heels of LOOK ERAS which shifted away from the heels of EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE after that horse crossed to the rail. In this incident, MULTIGOGO became unbalanced and lost ground, resulting in BOND ELEGANCE, which was following, being steadied away from the heels of that horse in consequence. HAPPY FIERY DRAGON, which was following BOND ELEGANCE and travelling keenly, was checked away from the heels of that horse, resulting in NUMERO UNO and PLANET STAR, which were following, also being hampered. After this, HAPPY FIERY DRAGON continued to travel keenly and shifted out away from the heels of BOND ELEGANCE. After the 700 Metres, MULTIGOGO was taken wider by LOOK ERAS which shifted out away from the heels of EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE. Approaching the Home Turn, NUMERO UNO was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BOND ELEGANCE. After being shifted to the inside of BOND ELEGANCE near the 300 Metres in an attempt to improve between that horse and NUMERO UNO, PLANET STAR was then held up for clear running between those horses as a result of NUMERO UNO shifting out. After BOND ELEGANCE shifted out approaching the 200 Metres, PLANET STAR was again ridden along to improve between BOND ELEGANCE and NUMERO UNO, however, approaching the 150 Metres was steadied when disappointed for running as a result of NUMERO UNO shifting out. Over the final 100 Metres, MANFUL STAR had difficulty obtaining clear running when unable to improve between EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE and LOOK ERAS and consequently was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race. Over the concluding stages, HAPPY HAPPY was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MULTIGOGO which shifted in marginally under pressure and consequently was not able to be properly tested. For the majority of the race, CORRE RAPIDO travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY FIERY DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MANFUL STAR, LOOK ERAS and EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE were sent for sampling.
