THE JAZZ, which was fractious in the barriers, shifted in at the start and bumped DARING HEART. Shortly after the start, SAVANNAH WIND shifted out and bumped CURLING LUXURY. From wide barriers, EXCELLENCE and GLENEALY PRIZE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, DARING HEART was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TORNEY which shifted in after racing tight inside WORKS OF ART which shifted in away from SAVANNAH WIND. Passing the 1050 Metres, SAVANNAH WIND got its head up when proving difficult to settle and awkwardly placed close to the heels of CURLING LUXURY (Apprentice H N Wong) which at this time steadied the tempo. TORNEY, which was following SAVANNAH WIN, got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse in consequence. DARING HEART, which was following and proving difficult to settle, was checked away from the heels of TORNEY as was THE JAZZ which shifted out away from the heels of DARING HEART and bumped EXCELLENCE. Apprentice Wong was warned against the practice of steadying the tempo in races too abruptly. For a considerable distance after this, DARING HEART continued to prove very difficult to settle and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of TORNEY. At the entrance to the Straight, CASA MASTER shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SPEEDY WALLY. After the 300 Metres, DARING HEART was shifted out across the heels of THE JAZZ to obtain clear running. Close to the finishing line, SPEEDY WALLY got its head on the side and lay in. When easing down after the race, STAR OF HONG KONG dipped, resulting in O Doleuze being dislodged and the bridle fitted to STAR OF HONG KONG being dislodged. A veterinary inspection of CURLING LUXURY immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CURLING LUXURY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GENTRY and SPEEDY WALLY were sent for sampling. <12/10/2017 Additional Veterinary Report>CURLING LUXURY, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. CURLING LUXURY was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer Y S Tsui this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, CURLING LUXURY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
