VICTOR EMPEROR was withdrawn on 28.9.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left front capped elbow). Before being allowed to race again, VICTOR EMPEROR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EASTERN PROWESS was slow to begin. SUNNY ORIENT began awkwardly, bumped the hindquarters of GOOD DAYS and lost ground. When the pace slackened near the 1000 Metres, EASTERN PROWESS got its head up and raced ungenerously for some distance when being checked away from the heels of FORTUNATE RUNNER. FORTUNATE RUNNER, which was inclined to race greenly when placed under pressure in the Straight, was awkwardly placed inside the heels of NOBLE DE LOVE which shifted in marginally passing the 100 Metres. S Clipperton advised that he was instructed to ride LAUGH OUT LOUD more patiently today and the horse consequently settled behind midfield. He said however that when placed under pressure on straightening LAUGH OUT LOUD showed no response and as the horse did not feel comfortable in its action, he did not test it fully over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of LAUGH OUT LOUD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. When questioned, N Rawiller stated that GOOD DAYS travelled comfortably in a trailing position behind the favourite A BEAUTIFUL in the early and middle stages. He said approaching the 600 Metres he elected to take the initiative and make ground around A BEAUTIFUL and have his mount at full momentum rounding the Home Turn. He said however that after being shifted out from behind A BEAUTIFUL and placed under pressure, GOOD DAYS showed no response and, in his view, raced "flat”. A veterinary inspection of GOOD DAYS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A BEAUTIFUL and VICTORY MASTER were sent for sampling.
