CASA MASTER shifted out at the start and bumped TORNEY. DARING HEART began only fairly. From wide barriers, SPEEDY WALLY and AGIAAL were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, TRENDY WIN was crowded for room between TORNEY which got its head on the side and shifted out abruptly and WAH MAY BABY which shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of MEGATRON (K Teetan). K Teetan was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. For some distance after the 1100 Metres, POLYMER LUCK, which was travelling keenly, was awkwardly placed behind MEGATRON. Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, POLYMER LUCK shifted out away from the heels of MEGATRON and bumped WAH MAY BABY. Approaching the 1000 Metres, SEMPITERNAL was taken into a position three wide and without cover by TORNEY which shifted out. Making the turn near the 550 Metres, POLYMER LUCK raced tight inside WAH MAY BABY which lay in. Near the 450 Metres, DARING HEART was bumped by ENORMOUS HONOUR which improved into tight running between that horse and TRENDY WIN. After this, DARING HEART raced in restricted room between ENORMOUS HONOUR and SEMPITERNAL which was giving ground. At the entrance to the Straight, POLYMER LUCK shifted out and brushed WAY MAY BABY. Passing the 300 Metres, SEMPITERNAL, which was continuing to give ground, was momentarily crowded for room between SPEEDY WALLY which hung in and DARLING HEART which was racing tight outside ENORMOUS HONOUR. After the 150 Metres, ENORMOUS HONOUR was held up when unable to improve into tight running inside TORNEY. Then near the 50 Metres, ENORMOUS HONOUR was steadied and shifted out after being disappointed for running between TORNEY and WAH MAY BABY which, after initially shifting in, then shifted out marginally. Because of this, ENORMOUS HONOUR was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race. After the 100 Metres, POLYMER LUCK was momentarily steadied when disappointed for running between MEGATRON and WAH MAY BABY which shifted in. A veterinary inspection of DARING HEART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. POLYMER LUCK, SPEEDY WALLY and TORNEY were sent for sampling.
