After leaving the Parade Ring but prior to entering the track, RICHCITY FORTUNE became fractious, resulting in T Berry being dislodged without incident. Shortly after the start, TELECOM SUN, which was being steadied to obtain cover, raced tight between RICHCITY FORTUNE and MASSIVE POWER. Throughout the race, LAUGH OUT LOUD travelled wide and without cover. The performance of TELECOM SUN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM SUN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. K C Leung (MASSIVE POWER) was warned against the practice of raising his whip arm above the height of his shoulder. After the race, T Berry stated that it had been intended for RICHCITY FORTUNE to lead if possible, however, just prior to the start being effected his mount became fractious which resulted in RICHCITY FORTUNE beginning only fairly. A veterinary inspection of RICHCITY FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, K Teetan reported that BONUS KING was unbalanced throughout the race and particularly so when under pressure rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight. He said for this reason he eased the horse down over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of BONUS KING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BONUS KING, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BONUS KING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUPER EURO STAR and CREAM BRULEE were sent for sampling.
