Steward Report Predict Pace Map
CONSORT and MONGOLIAN KING were slow to begin. After initially being ridden along to obtain a forward position, HAPPY AGILITY was steadied passing the 1300 Metres to obtain a position with cover. Shortly after entering the Straight, HEALTHY JOYFUL was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CALIFORNIA WHIP when being shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, HEALTHY JOYFUL raced tight outside SOLAR HEI HEI which improved into narrow running between HEALTHY JOYFUL and CALIFORNIA WHIP. Near the 175 Metres, HEALTHY JOYFUL was steadied away from the heels of MONGOLIAN KING (U Rispoli) which shifted in under pressure. U Rispoli was severely reprimanded and told that in future he would be expected to make a greater effort than he did on this occasion to prevent his mount from shifting ground. MONGOLIAN KING then shifted out under pressure approaching the 100 Metres. Throughout the race, CALIFORNIA WHIP travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of ENCOUNTER immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ENCOUNTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BABA MAMA, MONGOLIAN KING and SOLAR HEI HEI were sent for sampling.
