DYNAMIC VOYAGE, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 15.7.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, DYNAMIC VOYAGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GAINFULJET, which was difficult to load, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test prior to its next race start. HAYMAKER began only fairly. On jumping, JIMSON THE FAMOUS became unbalanced and was steadied when crowded for room between FURIOUS PEGASUS and HAPPY GAINS which shifted out. HAPPY GAINS continued to shift out despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in FURIOUS PEGASUS, ORIENTAL FANTASIA, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS and HURRICANE KID all being hampered. After this, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS and HURRICANE KID were steadied to obtain cover. Near the 1050 Metres, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS was awkwardly placed outside the heels of FURIOUS PEGASUS. Approaching and passing the 800 Metres, STARRY STARLIES got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of HAPPY FIERY DRAGON. Passing the 800 Metres, FURIOUS PEGASUS shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HAPPY GAINS which was racing close to the heels of NATURAL TEAM. Near the 750 Metres, HURRICANE KID got its head up and lost ground when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FURIOUS PEGASUS. Near the 550 Metres, NATURAL TEAM was bumped by HAPPY GAINS which improved into tight running between that horse and STARRY STARLIES. Passing the 200 Metres, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS was awkwardly placed outside the heels of HAYMAKER. When questioned regarding the performance of KWAICHUNG BROTHERS, J Moreira stated that it had been intended for the horse to be ridden in about a midfield position if possible, however, after being hampered on jumping the horse was required to race further back in the field than was planned. He said nonetheless KWAICHUNG BROTHERS did not travel well at any stage of the race and was disappointing. A veterinary inspection of KWAICHUNG BROTHERS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HAPPY GAINS, HAPPY FIERY DRAGON and LE PEGASE were sent for sampling.
