GREENERY FORTUNE began only fairly. JOLLY BOUNTIFUL shifted in at the start and bumped INDIGENOUS STAR. JOLLY BOUNTIFUL then became unbalanced and shifted out and in doing so made heavy contact with COOL AND NEAT, resulting in JOLLY BOUNTIFUL being buffeted for some distance between INDIGENOUS STAR and COOL AND NEAT. From wide barriers, TELECOM TITAN and VARA PEARL were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Near the 1050 Metres, GREENERY FORTUNE became unbalanced of its own accord and lost ground. INDIGENOUS STAR, which was following GREENERY FORTUNE, was shifted out away from behind that horse which resulted in INDIGENOUS STAR becoming awkwardly placed close to the heels of MASSIVE POWER. For a short distance after this, INDIGENOUS STAR raced keenly and making the turn near the 900 Metres got its head on the side and lay out and in doing so raced tight inside EXPERTO CREDE. Approaching and passing the 800 Metres, JOLLY BOUNTIFUL commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EXPERTO CREDE, resulting in the horse being shifted out away from behind EXPERTO CREDE after the 800 Metres and then travelling wide and without cover. Near the 750 Metres, CHIU CHOW KID was awkwardly placed outside the heels of COOL AND NEAT which shifted out from behind INDIGENOUS STAR. Passing the 700 Metres, as JOLLY BOUNTIFUL improved to its outside, EXPERTO CREDE commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MASSIVE POWER. Near the 650 Metres, INDIGENOUS STAR was steadied away from the heels of GREENERY FORTUNE. Approaching the 600 Metres, EXPERTO CREDE and WUSHU CHAMPION raced tight. Passing the 400 Metres, CORRE RAPIDO was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LOOK ERAS. Near the 350 Metres, VARA PEARL was steadied and shifted to the outside of GREENERY FORTUNE after being disappointed for running inside that horse. CHIU CHOW KID lost its right front plate near the 100 Metres. From a wide barrier, WUSHU CHAMPION travelled wide and without cover for the majority of the race. A veterinary inspection of COOL AND NEAT immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and an endoscopic examination conducted on COOL AND NEAT also showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, COOL AND NEAT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CHIU CHOW KID immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CHIU CHOW KID will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. COOL AND NEAT, GREAT TREASURE and EXPERTO CREDE were sent for sampling. <10/7/2017 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that WUSHU CHAMPION was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, WUSHU CHAMPION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. COOL AND NEAT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and an endoscopic examination conducted on the horse also showed a substantial amount of blood in its trachea. COOL AND NEAT was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D J Hall this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right hind leg. As previously advised, COOL AND NEAT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
