APACHE SPIRIT began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped JADE FORTUNE. From the outside barriers, TEN FLAMES, UNICORN and GIANT STARS were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, BEAUTY LOVE failed to muster speed. BRING IT ON travelled wide and without cover until passing the 1000 Metres. Near the 950 Metres, BEAUTY LOVE commenced to prove very difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of WISKY, resulting in BEAUTY LOVE racing wide and without cover. Passing the 900 Metres, TEN FLAMES commenced to prove very difficult to settle and shifted in away from the heels of BEAUTY LOVE. Approaching the 700 Metres, BEAUTY LOVE raced tight outside THUNDER STOMP. Rounding the Home Turn, APACHE SPIRIT got its head up when being checked away from the heels of VOLITATION which was giving ground. Also rounding the Home Turn, SUPER CHIC raced tight outside JADE FORTUNE. At the entrance to the Straight, GIANT STARS and THUNDER STOMP bumped, resulting in THUNDER STOMP becoming unbalanced. Then in the early part of the Straight, GIANT STARS raced tight inside the heels of THUNDER STOMP. After being disappointed for running between THUNDER STOMP and UNICORN, GIANT STARS was shifted to the inside of UNICORN approaching the 100 Metres to obtain clear running. After the race, B Prebble was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of VOLITATION which gave ground in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of VOLITATION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY LOVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of APACHE SPIRIT immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, APACHE SPIRIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. JADE FORTUNE and SUPER CHIC were sent for sampling.
